Grand Café & Beach, GrangerBay, Cape Town presents the ‘I was Shot in Cape Town’ exhibition on Thursday, 8 September 2011 at 18:30. A photographic exhibition created by a talented group of 15 youths from the Mamelani Projects, a community development organisation based in Khayelitsha just outside Cape Town.

Mamelani Projects partnered with the Studio_Bernard Viljoen Foundation (NPO) who developed the ‘I Was Shot Foundation’ to give the talented youth an opportunity to learn the art of photography over a 6 month period. Grand Café & Beach generously donated cameras as well as providing a café style lunch every Friday before their lessons.

The culmination of their photographic training course is their first exhibition, ‘I was Shot in Cape Town’ and showcases at the Grand Café & Beach during the month of September, which is open to the public and consists of countless photographs taken from all over Cape Town.
