The Joburg Fringe is an independent art fair and organisation first launched in 2008, complementing the Joburg Art Fair. It’s an artist-run initiative with a petit but potent history that celebrates the inner city. 2011 sees the Joburg Fringe taking place in the South Point Precinct (corner Juta and Melle streets), with exhibitions, installations and screenings.

A two-night, Braamfontein-based celebration of gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex and lesbian theatre, art, film and music as a culturally-driven warm-up to Joburg Pride taking place on Saturday, 1 October. This is the first-ever expansion of the Pride brand since its establishment in 1990.
