Is there anything more quintessentially South African than a South African braai? Heritage Month is here, giving the team at Nederburg’s The Manor in Paarl another great reason to dust off their braai equipment and invite YOU to come and celebrate all things braai with them over the next couple of weekends.

The Manor’s team of chefs will be lighting the fires from 12:00 (until 14:30) on Saturday, 18 September, and repeat this braai experience every weekend thereafter (depending on weather), including the Friday of the Heritage Day long weekend spanning 24 to 26 September, up until the weekend of 9 and 10 October.

Curious about what to expect?

The Crowd Pleaser: for only R25 you get a Boerie roll, with your favourite sauce, tomato & onion smoor, or caramelised onions.

The Free State Vegetarian, R125: Grilled chicken & bell pepper kebab, boerewors, garlic & herb butter roll, salty potato fries, and a chef’s garden salad.

The Full House, R165: A-grade sliced beef rump, spiced Karoo lamb chop, grilled chicken & bell pepper kebab, boerewors, garlic & herb butter roll, salty potato fries, and a chef’s garden salad.

(The Manor sources its meat from Deli-Co Farmstyle Butchery in Riebeek Kasteel, so rest assured that they’ll be serving you the very best in ethically-sourced meat.)

A wide range of Nederburg’s award-winning wines, including its popular Cabernet Sauvignon 2019 (a great match with a braai), and a selection of ciders, beers and soft drinks will be served from a bar set up on the lawn outside the historic manor house.

Picnic blankets and cushions will be available on a first come, first served basis (pre-bookings take preference).

There will be some fun lawn games for young and old, and loads of space for the young ones to shake off some energy.

Pre-booking is highly recommended. Make your reservation by contacting the friendly team at The Manor on 021 877 5155 or info@nederburg.com and when doing so, please confirm any allergies and dietary requirements.

Some considerations: Strict Covid-19 hygiene and safety measures are in place at The Manor. Wearing of masks is a must (apart from when seated). Right of admission reserved. We support the responsible consumption of alcohol.
