OppiKoppi, South Africa’s only festival with a heritage site, announce their line-up today via their website. Go to www.oppikoppi.co.za and let your data lead you.

Nothing is forever, and after 23 punishing years behind the speakers, it would appear that we, the Mango Pickers, are ready to take our place at the frontline of foot soldiers towards peace, love and (big) tunes. It’s now or never, a case of all or nothing (a case of anything ill do, actually). Bring the big baskets and Johnny Hodges the Blues Preacher.

In the words of one festival director: “We are here to stay.” Apothegm of truth. Maximus maxim.

General Admission to the 3 day festival is only R930. “General Admission” is a dated term.

Like cardigans and beards and many more. There it is again. This rock-bottom ticket price includes 24 hour camping on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Tented hotel accommodation, from smart to super outrageous, is also available and ranges from R1000 – R3400 per person depending on your fondness for luxury. Or the lap there of. Plus!

Included in your bargain ticket are well over 150 live performances by countless (we’ve tried) artists, bands, DJ’s, actors, comedians, chefs and other crew members from all over our amazing universe.

Tickets are available at http://Plankton.mobi and http://Computicket. Gone are the days of lay-buy. You can skip that trip to the barber; we’ve seen all the beards.

Repeat after me: We are here to stay.

The OppiKoppi Me Now, The Mango Picker line-up includes: Flume (DJ set), Black

Coffee, Two Door Cinema Club, Francois Van Coke, The Naked + Famous,

Mafikizolo, Beatenberg and Snakehips.

The full line-up is available on http://www.oppikoppi.co.za
