With the silly season on our doorsteps and so much to look forward to we thought we’d just remind you to diarise your favourite festival. It is almost time for you to pack those bags and head back to the banks of the BreedeRiver for a weekend of frolicking, fun and festivities.Yes Up the Creek Music Festival is now officially around the corner, the dates for 2012 have been set. From the 3 to the 5 February we urge you to leave the hustle and bustle of your regular routines for the serene surroundings of the riverbank, magical muso’s and the faces of your favourite people.
The line up for Up the Creek 2012 is nothing short of phenomenal and we are happy to let you know that the following bands and artists have been contracted for the weekend: aKing, Akkedis, Black Cat Bones, Blues Broers, Cameron Bruce, City Bowl Mizers, Fox Comet, Great Apes, Holiday Murray, Hot Water, Karen Zoid, Louwtjie Rothman, Machineri, No One’s Arc, Piet Botha, Taxi Violence, Wrestlerish, Jeremy Loops, Luna Paige, Shadowclub, Sterling EQ, Andra, Peachy Keen, AC/DC Tribute, Southern Gypsey Queen.
Die hard creekers have a chance to enjoy a sneak preveiw of the weekend with an intimate show on the Thursday night. This year the doors will open at 16h00 for the first 400 music lovers. Gates open at 16h00 on Thursday, see ticket prices for details of Thursday – Sunday passes.
FLOAT YOUR BOAT
Lobster lilos, Indian canoes, floating bars and human tube chains are making a comeback in 2012. Following the splashing, singing, howling success of last year’s float competition, the benchmark has been set. So put your creativity to the test and we’ll be giving away some awesome prizes for a variety of creative floats this year. Bos Ice Tea are sponsoring the competition with an absolutely to- die- for winners package prize. Participants are encouraged to think outside of their beach gear boxes in order to stand a chance to win these incredible prizes. At this stage, categories include anything from the best design and most floatable contraption to the most luxurious device on the BreedeRiver.
One early bird ticket purchaser will walk away with a grand weekend prize consisting of: Acommodation in a chalet for the weekend and R1000.00 spending money. The winner will be announced on 10 January 2012 on facebook. You can also LIKE Up the Creeks facebook fan page and be entered into a lucky draw to win tickets to the fest. The lucky winner stands to win 2 free tickets to Up The Creek 2012- the draw takes place on 31 December and the winner will be announced on facebook.

Up the Creek 2012 promises to be yet again one of the highlights on the Festival Calendar in the Western Cape.
