Illustrious luxury home fragrance brand, Cape Island, recently announced the launch of the sixth in their distinctive line of signature fragrances inspired by Africa. The sweetly seductive scent, aptly named Wild Coast, is masterfully crafted by creative visionary, Suzanne Snowdowne, and showcases a sensual side to the customarily elegant brand, with its striking hot pink packaging and trademark gold crest.
“Our new offering is inspired by the rugged, untamed natural beauty of South Africa’s Wild Coast. We aimed to create a fragrance that speaks to the diversity of the region, its beautiful people, unspoiled beaches, sub-tropical climate and magical landscape. We’re thrilled that the final product delivers beyond our expectations,” says Snowdowne.
The provocative scent where elegant iris captures enticing notes of black currant and wild jasmine is grounded with rich praline and patchouli. Marketing Manager, Megan Ariefdien says “Wild Coast makes a statement about our willingness as women to confidently embrace our feminine nature, celebrate our inherent diversity and own our personal power.”
As part of Cape Island’s Giving Back initiative, each collection supports a non-profit organisation that speaks to the unique tribute carried by each fragrance. Wild Coast offers its tribute to the resilient youth of Africa and their promise of hope for a better future. A percentage of sales from the hugely popular 250 ml classic candles will be donated to the Baby Home, Umlazi, a place of safety for abandoned and orphaned babies and training centre for caregivers in the community.
Cape Island co-founder and managing director, Karin Wood says, “We are extremely fortunate as a company to have not only survived the lockdown period but also managed to grow our business in an environment that saw countless businesses close their doors. We do not take this blessing for granted and are grateful to be in a position to support our communities through our Giving Back initiative.”
Available online at capeisland.co.za and selected retailers since November, products from the new range include hand-poured mini (100ml) and classic (250ml) scented candles in recyclable glass, a show stopper Christmas bauble following the beauty bauble trend to add to your tree decorations or use as the ultimate stocking filler, with a fragrant room spray to follow later in the year.
Stand to win a Cape Island Christmas Bauble and Classic Candle – valued at R700.
Winner announced 15 December on our stories.
