Tim Bergling, better known by his producer alias of Avicii, was one of the most celebrated electronic music artists of the late 2000’s. Primarily applauded for his work as a DJ and producer, Avicii rose to prominence in 2011 with his single “Levels”.

He began producing music at the tender age of 18, which led to support from electronic music heavyweights like Tiësto, Pete Tong and many more, contributing to his meteoric rise to stardom. In addition to creating several remixes for tracks from Little Boots, Robyn and Dizzee Rascal, Avicii was heavily acclaimed for his own singles, which included “Bromance”, “My Feelings for You”, “Seek Bromance” and most famously, 2011’s “Levels”, which reached platinum status in over ten countries across the globe.

The Universal Music Group signed artist went on to be a perennial part of Top 40 countdowns and streaming music app playlists around the World with hits like “I Could Be the One,” which was a single colab with dance music dj and producer Nicky Romero, “Wake Me Up” featuring the vocals of Aloe Blacc, “Hey Brother”, “Addicted to You” and “A Sky Full of Stars,” a collaboration with Coldplay. 2014 welcomed the arrival of an album that featured a series of remixes titled – True: Avicii by Avicii, which was followed by his 2015 sophomore album: Stories featuring artists like Zac Brown, Wyclef Jean, Matisyahu and Martin Garrix. This cemented Tim Bergling’s status as global music phenomenon that transcended the boundaries of electronic music for wide-stream appeal.

While Avicii did continue to perform, he announced that he would retire from his work as a DJ and music producer in early 2016, stating persistent health concerns as the reason for his sudden departure from the press and media eye. He went on to perform what would be his final live set in Ibiza later that year before unexpectedly passing away in Muscat, Oman at the age of 28 in April 2018.

Fast forward to April 2019, a year after Avicii’s tragic passing, brand new music is set to be released in celebration of this talented artist’s work and life.
