For the past decade, La Mouette has developed a reputation for serving finely prepared French-inspired cuisine with seasonal South African influences. The talented team at La Mouette have worked closely over the last few weeks with culinary advisor Chef Neill Anthony in developing a delicious new Spring Special 5-Course tasting menu.

There’s an art to each and every one of Chef Neill’s tasting menus. From the first bite to the final morsel, each course has been designed to take you on a culinary adventure. In keeping with the season of spring, every ingredient has been carefully sourced to give you the very best tastes of spring, so you can enjoy the freshest flavours in the most exquisite combinations.

We got the opportunity to try out the Spring Tasting Menu curated by Neill Anthony for La Mouette and our senses were pleasantly delighted!

The dishes and wine pairings that particularly stood out for us were the Tuna Tartare with fennel mousse, radish salad, Tom yum vinaigrette. This was paired with a spectacular Rosé, HPF ‘Bloos’ 2020. The Fresh spring asparagus with Hollandaise sauce paired perfectly with a buttery La Bri 2019 Chardonnay! Roasted butternut and Parmesan soup paired with Rijk’s ‘Touch of Oak’ Chenin blanc 2017 and the Slow Braised Karoo lamb neck paired Deetlefs Pinotage 2016. The evening was perfectly finished off with a superb mango parfait with coconut sorbet and coconut crumb … which we are still dreaming about.

The cost of the 5- Course Spring Special Tasting Menu is R350 p/p or R650 p/p with wine pairing, which we highly recommend!
