947 and Sowing the Seeds Music and Lifestyle Festival are thrilled to announce the full #STS2016 line up, which features international headliners Of Monsters And Men and the UK’s biggest funk band Jungle, supported by local acts BCUC, December Streets and Matthew Mole.

Get your dancing feet ready for a groovy afternoon of euphoric melodies and join us at Emmarentia Dam on the 2nd of April 2016 as these five incredible acts take to the stage for an unforgettable day of good food, entertainment and fun.

With an unmistakable sound that features rocking strings, ragged vocals, bass beats, a sweet tambourine and boom bap raps, BCUC will take us on musical journey as they tackle the harsh realities of the voiceless and uneducated, tapping into the elusiveness of the spirit world of ancestors through their enchanting sound, rich in tradition, rituals and beliefs.

Indie pop band December Streets has been captivating audiences from all corners of SA with their definitive sound that fuses live elements with iconic synths. Their addictive new-wave style is a combination of indie, pop and rock, seeing several of their singles chart across national radio stations. Last year the band opened for international indie pop band The Kooks, after winning the #VITC2015 Open The City band competition.

Blending folk with electronica undertones, singer/songwriter Matthew Mole has a vast music knowledge, combining his effortless skill with a formal education in music production. Performing with his guitar, kick drum, synths and electronics, he has played mesmerising shows at the Apollo London (UK), the 2014 presidential inauguration, the Seattle Film Festival (US) and many more, and is ready to rock the afternoon away at #STS2016!

Of Monsters And Men is bound to set the stage ablaze as they perform their revered, engaging mix of indie, folk, and alternative tunes. From Lollapalooza, to Bonnaroo, Coachella, Glastonbury and more, the band has headlined some of the world’s most iconic music festivals, and are ready to rock the afternoon away at Sowing the Seeds Music and Lifestyle Festival. With a sold out show in Cape Town, a second added due to popular demand, this is a show you definitely don’t want to miss.

There’s no blueprint to Jungle’s irresistible, life-enhancing, report-to-the-dance floor sound, but there are many ingredients. It’s P-Funk and ‘Grand Theft Auto’, it’s Curtis Mayfield and ‘Tron’, it’s the Beach Boys and Joy Division and Marvin Gaye and Can, all cut up and refracted in a London neighbourhood where anything can happen. Before they had even had an official record out in America they were selling out shows back to back, and have recently been announced as part of the UK’s Lovebox Festival, where they will play alongside Major Lazer, LCD Soundsystem and many more. Get ready to dance your heart away to the sweet tunes of the UK’s biggest funk band!
