Local creative duo, Robyn Adams and Renette van der Merwe, have been making their own accessories for some time. After a few compliments and one or two requests the two entrepreneurs decided to branch out and start a little business together. They started in November 2010 and now offer a range of unique and affordable accessories under the brand name Scarlette Boulevard.

Robyn and Renette make necklaces, bracelets and earrings, and have recently started importing some rings and necklaces from a source overseas. “We always try to keep an open mind as to what we could make. We also offer a bag tweaking service. You can bring any old bag in and we could make it look spectacular.”

The best thing about SB? The price. “We’re not trying to rip anyone off, so you’ll find our prices are very reasonable, and we always run promotions!” Robyn tells us.

YCLAD thinks this discovery is perfect for the holiday season. Robyn says they’ve got some great options for stocking fillers in their range. They’ve even put some “Christmas Packs” together (price ranges from R40 to R150, depending on the items). Her favourites are the single earrings while Renette prefers the hippy feather hairclips and the knuckle-buster charm bracelets.

The girls here at YCLAD would love to get a few of their pieces in their Christmas stockings (wink).
