This past Friday we were invited to the pre-opening of the innovative, trendy and eco-friendly Signature Lux Hotel by ONOMO- situated on the doorstep of the V&A Waterfront.
The hotel offers guests exclusive services such as a fully integrated app- allowing your complete hotel visit to be controlled at your fingertips. After your first stay, you able to checkin remotely from any location and your cell phone doubles up as your room key.
After checking in, utilising the self service check-in kiosk, and dropping our luggage in our room, we made our way back downstairs to the party. We were encouraged to dress the part with top hats, Gatsby headdresses and feather boas and then wined and dined to our hearts content in the gorgeous Vivaldi restaurant. The decor is Louis the 14th inspired with an African Twist. Complete with breathtaking chandeliers, gold trimmings, rich velvets and brightly coloured furniture with African prints- that all come together to make the space totally Insta-worthy.
The canapé’s served were creative and mouth watering and certainly set the tone for what one can expect going there for dinner. We were entertained throughout the night by wonderful musical and dance performances given by the students of the Waterfront Theatre School. Definitely a welcomed new experiential restaurant space for themed occasions, birthdays, end of year functions, bachelorette parties etc. but in the words of the developer, you may need to ensure you book a few weeks in advance.
With room sizes ranging from 16m2-27m2, 87 bedrooms and an affordable daily rate from R995, the hotel is great for family stays, those travelling for business or those who simply want to stay the night- after a few too many cocktails at Dinner. Guests staying at the hotel can enjoy a superb cup of coffee and buffet breakfast the next morning, which is included in the room rate.
