Nestled deep in the exquisite landscape of Wilderness in the Garden Route, lies Treedom Villas and Vardos. A magical little wonderland, with ultra-unique accommodation options which are the epitome of boho-chic! Ever wanted to channel your inner traveling nomad? Well they have made that possible with the Owl and Gypsy Vardo’s. And due to popular demand, three new vardo’s including the mermaid, angel and unicorn as well as a Playhouse entertainment area are in the making for the Treedom team.

On arrival we were greeted by lovely husband and wife team Debbie and Marc, who collected our luggage in the cutest little vehicle and led us through the gorgeous grounds to our vardo. Together they have built something truly remarkable, and genuinely memorable. We immediately felt the magic of Treedom oozing an overall feeling of happiness and relaxation found in a place, untouched by the stress of city life.

We stayed in the charming Owl Vardo and couldn’t have asked for a more magical stay, our luxury self-catering gypsy-style caravan had everything we needed from shower amenities and a gas stove to Le Creuset cookware and braai equipment to make the adventure uniquely South African. Each vardo has their own day bed and outdoor living area with bohemian decor and ample space to enjoy your meals, lounge around, listen to music and play board games. Or if it’s more your speed, lie on the day bed and take in the stars at night.

Once you have settled into your villa or vardo, there are many activities to choose from that lie nearby, from lovely breakfast spots, beaches, and bars to kayaking, hiking and many more. Within the property there is much to do as well. Take in the unspoilt natural surroundings of Wilderness which are utterly awe-inspiring, have a stroll through the property with its unique walkways and friendly chickens, detox in the super cute sauna or take a dip in the love pool. Dinner can also be arranged and cooked by the lovely chef and co-owner, Debbie. What a way to enjoy a romantic dinner than in the Tremendous Treedom Love Tunnel.

Treedom is an eco-friendly destination and their facilities are intended to have a minimal impact on the environment. They harvest rainwater and recycle it through a 4-tank water treatment plant which uses living organisms to purify the water, which is then used to flush toilets and water the gardens. Cleaning products are eco-friendly and guest amenities are locally produced from aloe vera and safe for the environment.

The team at Treedom care about what they put into their bodies and therefore grow their own. They have an organic veggie garden and allow you to shop for what you need on-site with peace of mind knowing that what you are eating is pesticide free. They recycle all trash and all organic waste goes into a compost heap to feed the soil.

Book now to stay in one of these unique Gypsy Vardo’s, one of a kind in South Africa and the perfect blend of luxury and bohemian living. It really is a fantasy destination made real.
