Call the police, British music legend Sting is finally coming to South Africa. In honour of his 25th anniversary as a solo artist, Sting will be taking his Back to Bass Tour to Johannesburg’s Coca-Cola Dome on the 24th and 25th March 2012 and to Cape Town’s Grand West Arena on the 27th and 28th March 2012.
With the arrival of this legendary musician, we can only hope that his oh, so talented and fashionable daughter, Eliot Sumner (better known as Coco Sumner), will be joining him.
At just twenty-one years old, Coco Sumner has quite the career under her belt. Not straying too far from daddy’s world she too is a musician and lead singer for her band I Blame Coco; the band signed a multi-record deal with Island Records and their debut album The Constant was released in November 2010. Coco’s voice is incredibly sexy, husky, and low, and could easily be mistaken for that of a man. Just like her voice, her look and sense of style is quite unique and androgynous too with oodles of vintage and bohemian influences; there seems to be no specific niche to pigeonhole her into. We love that!
Miss Sunmer has graced the cover of various fashion and music magazines such asAsos and Love, and has been featured in Vanidad and Vogue.com where she speaks of her love for music, her inspirations and her fetish for vintage clothing. In 2008 Coco joined the likes of other famous Brits Agyness Deyn, Lily Donaldson and Alex Pettyfer for the Burberry Spring/Summer collection ad campaign shot by Mario Testino.
While doing a shoot for Elle UK in May 2011 well known photographer, Rankin said it best “Actually, I think that what’s great about … Coco is that she is very individual in the way that she looks and actually to … over style her or kind of portray her in a way that is different to her would be a disservice to her…”
