The theme for this year’s Sansui Summer Cup, Joburg’s most sensational fashion, social and horse race, event in Turffontein is “Bling your Pink”. We like it; the soft colour is a great way to balance out the masculine horses and their riders on display. Iit’s bound to be one of the fashion occasions of the year.
On Saturday 26 November, Gauteng is pleased to invited gamblers, style-lovers and big spenders to spend a day in the “Winner’s Circle”. All that is asked of the fashionistas attending is to “bling their pink” and look stunning in the process.
The two charities that will benefit from the event include the non-profit organisation, Rainbows and Smiles, and the Childhood Cancer Awareness programme. So not only will attendees get to look their best, watch some fantastic horse-racing and indulge in some bubbly and delicious snacks, but they’ll be doing it all for a great cause.
The Turffontein Racecourse is bound to see some of the best-dressed Joburg has to offer exploring the grounds. The race has a rich history having first been run in 1887. This was following the discovery of gold on the Witwatersrand nearby. Over 200 hundreds years later and gold (or top place) is still the colour of the hour as jockeys race to reach that first place.
If we were in Jo’burg we’d definitely be attending this stylish affair.
