Positive Heroes, a non-profit organisation focused on speaking out against the stigma surrounding HIV, is hosting BLOOM, a fabulous event at Cape Town’s Civic Centre. Read more about them here.
The fashion show and auction takes place on November 3 and will showcase twenty-two of the country’s top fashion designers. The inspiration behind the collections? BLOOM, of course! Each designer will donate their piece of artwork to be auctioned off in an attempt to raise money for the organisation.

Everybody loves to look good and Postive Heroes is using that to engage with locals. Executive Director of Positive Heroes, Sue Wildish, explains, “Our aim is to emphasise the idea that Living Positively and Fashionably is entirely possible if you manage your status.”

We love the idea of this initiative and cannot wait for the event!

All money raised through ticket sales and the exciting auction will go towards facilitating further Positive Heroes initiatives such as the Positive Heroes Ultra Marathon Team. These five incredible individuals all live with HIV and yet despite their illness they train, take ARV medication whilte they run and show others that with determination and focus anyone infected with HIV can live an active, healthy and long life. The organisation also creates support groups in urban and rural areas around South Africa to counsel and advise members of the community affected by the disease.
So, are you ready to sip on sprakling cocktails, nibble on delectable eats and be treated to some fantastic live entertainment all in the name of a great cause? We are!
