According to the following statement (released by Hilltoplive today) Chevelle will not be hitting our shores time soon!

It is with heavy hearts that Chevelle band management, Creative Arts Agency international and Hilltoplive announce that the forthcoming tour dates in South Africa will have to be postponed…

The band initially committed to the dates knowing that it might be a push for time to complete their new album. However the recording process has taken longer than hoped for and therefore left no choice but to postpone the tour for now. Hilltoplive will be making information on this tour available as soon as a workable date has been found.

Note from Chevelle – “Obviously everyone is really disappointed; there was such enthusiasm and support from all over South Africa and it’s a country we all wanted to see. But we will get there soon.” – Chevelle”

The Used will be replacing them for Oppikoppi Unknown Brother on 7 August 2011 and performing alongside the likes of Lark and P.H fat at the Grand West Casino, Cape Town on 8 August 2011
