In recent years Cape Town has become saturated with vintage labels. They seem to establish themselves overnight, becoming regular fixtures at markets and events in and around the city. However, most of these entrepreneurial endevours are mere side line projects for their owners and usually fizz out with the end of the summer season.
Janece Fricks’ label, Vintage Lover, is a very obvious exception to this rule. She started it 8 months ago and it’s still going strong. By tirelessly sourcing unique, quality vintage garments she ensures that she always has new stock to keep her clients returning. By constantly uploading new stock to her website she acts like an unofficial personal shopper. She brings quality clothing within reach for the 9-5ers who never get a chance to peruse the dusty aisles of hidden vintage and thrift stores.
This proactive attitude enables Janece to build solid relationships with her clientele. She adores her customers and they not only adore her but also her fabulous vintage stock!
You can find Vintage Lover at these markets:
- YM&EWK market, 28 October (4pm – 11pm) Labia Theatre
- City Bowl Fashion Market (14 Hope street, Gardens) 9am – 2pm
