JAZZ ON THE ROCKS was successfully introduced to Tietie’s Bay, Paternoster in 2011, and it is one of the most popular and successful music festivals in the Western Cape, enabling families to enjoy quality time together in the great outdoors.

As a result of this success JAZZ ON THE ROCKS will now be replicated on South Africa’s best beaches.  The 19th and 20th March 2016 marks the start of a journey that will bring profound impact to the scenic Town of PLETTENBERG BAY. The Festival will be held at Central Beach, Beacon Island, while the third beach location will be announced at the end of 2016

And the line-up is spectacular: Mr JIMMY DLUDLU; JUST-JINGER; JUDITH SEPHUMA; KURT DARREN; ALISTAIR ISOBELL; PJ POWERS; AFRO-FIESTA; ERROL DYERS; TONY COX, THE ROCKETS; STEVE NEWMAN; RAMON ALEXANDER; LESLIE KLEINSMITH; BRENT KRUSE and MANY MORE.

Expect food and refreshments (prepared by locals) to be on sale on this splendid beach, which enjoys “Blue Flag” status

‘Whilst the event essentially harnesses the healing forces of nature and music, social entrepreneurship is at the heart of all of our endeavours. Says Clarence Ford, executive of Camissa Solutions and executive producer of the Jazz on the Rocks series.

‘Camissa Solutions seeks to empower people, especially the youth, from “target” areas in all elements of festival design and management. The objective being for these young people, all from previously disadvantaged host communities, to run the event in future years.

‘We hope we can replicate the success achieved in Paternoster in Plettenberg Bay. Another important objective is for people on both sides of the N2 to benefit economically from our effort. Our aim is to bring healing to our still fragmented society. Social cohesion is ultimately at the heart of any successes to be achieved.’ Said Ford

‘Jazz on the Rocks is a reality because the Bitou Municipality had vision’ Fords said ‘They saw the potential for employment and for substantially increasing tourism in the area.
