Over the past couple months, Jamie xx has seriously caught my attention. Probably more recognised for his role in The xx, Jamie has been pushing out a lot of solo work.

Earlier in the year he released the seven-minute piece Far Nearer and then a number of remixes, like Rui Da Silva’s Touch Me where he teamed up with singer Yasmin, and his take on Adele’s Rolling In The Deep. Also getting him a ton of exposure, and credit, is the work on We’re New Here where he took the vocals of Gil Scott Heron and layered them over some beats.

Recently he stopped by BBC Radio 1 for his debut on the Essential Mix, dropping some new tracks from New Look, James Blake and throwing in some of his own works.
